I saw these questions floating around the interwebs and thought it would be fun to capture our family’s responses. Looking back one year, five years, ten years from now will be interesting. Some questions were answered only by the kids, some were also answered by the adults in this house.

What is coronavirus?

10-year-old: An immune-system-weakening disease, and it’s real name is COVID-19.

8-year-old: A deadly disease known as COVID-19.

How many days have we been in lockdown? (Actual answer is 66)

10yo: A little over 2 months.

8yo: 41 days.

— —

Did you change your clothes today?

Both kids: No (sheepishly)

G (husband): No

Me: Yes

— —

Do you want to go back to school?

10yo: Depends on what aspects. I miss my friends and teachers but I do not miss sitting around in the classroom all day. At least my room is comfortable. But I need a better chair.

8yo: Same. There’s nothing fun about sitting in a classroom.

G: I need both of you to leave this house.

— —

Who are you going to be most happy to see?

10yo: My friend.

8yo: Grammy.

G: The densist.

Me: My friends.

— —

Where is the first place you want to go?

10yo: The movie theater.

8yo: Seattle. We’ve never been there and we’ve always wanted to go there.

G: To get a haircut.

Me: The Art Institute of Chicago.

— —

How can we get rid of coronavirus?

10yo: Make a vaccine?

8yo: Fight with superpowers.

G: Herd immunity.
